Fun things to do in Atlanta

  • Enjoy a day outdoors climbing Georgia's Stone Mountain. Stone Mountain Park is also a great place to walk, bike or run. Our families enjoy a picnic along the banks of the lake and often carry visitors to the laser show in the evenings. Another great outing is Zoo Atlanta where you will find real tigers and bears (Panda bears of course). Atlanta's High Museum of Art has hosted numerous nationally acclaimed special exhibits in addition to a respectable collection of its own art. The Atlanta Symphony has grown in reputation and stature. In addition to a full regular season you can also enjoy the symphony pops concerts under the stars at Chastain Park. Find out what the South is all about at The Atlanta History Center. Visit the outstanding Egyptian collection at Emory University's Michael C Carlos Museum. The Callanwolde Fine Arts Center is a source of many opportunities for lovers of the arts. Atlanta Ballet, Alliance Theatre, and The Atlanta Opera offer critically acclaimed productions and performances. See the dinosaurs at Fernbank Science Center. Chill out on hot summer days at White Water Park or Six Flags Over Georgia.
  • The Atlanta Sports scene offers something for everyone. The Atlanta Braves were Major League Baseball's most successful team in the 90's. The Atlanta Falcons (NFL) stunned Atlanta by making it to the Superbowl in 1998. The Atlanta Hawks moved into Phillips Arena - a state of the art NBA Basketball arena. The Atlanta Thrashers are Atlanta's NHL new boys on the block. The Atlanta Track Club is the sponsor of the Peachtree Road Race (10K) held every 4th of July. Dynamo Swim Club is a year round USA Swimming Team in Atlanta boasting Olympic Alumni and offering instruction, training and competition to competitors from toddlers to Senior Citizens.
  • If you are looking for information on dining out, theatre, movies or participatory sports, check out Access Atlanta for the latest information and reviews. Access Atlanta is also a source of information for weather, traffic and news. The Atlanta Journal Constitution newspaper is also an excellent source of information.

The Courtyard by Marriott at Northlake and Fairfield Inn Atlanta/Northlake are other good choices. The Hampton Inn Atlanta-North Druid Hills is a good location for clients searching for neighborhoods In-town or near Emory. Buckhead visitors may find Fairfield Inn Atlanta/Buckhead a good choice for their visit. We have also had good comments about Courtyard Alpharetta/Atlanta for visitors to North Fulton.
